The project established Resource Center for Promotion of Local Democracy in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast to assist residents of the oblast in exercising their rights to control local authorities and develop local self-government.
Within the project 78 individual and 14 group consultations were held on the issues of voluntary association of territorial communities, creation of BSOP, means of control over activities of local authorities, assistance in holding general meeting on establishment of BSOP “Peremoha”. Aducational program of five training seminars for NGOs, 4 dialogue meetings on “Voluntary Association of Local Communities. BSOP is the Key to Community Development”, three round tables, dialogue between two territorial communities were organized; statutes of four territorial communities were brought in line with legislation, and adoption of local regulations was lobbied.
The ideas of voluntary association of territorial communities were promoted. The population of Dnipropetrovsk oblast was informed about the course and results of the project.
