The purpose of the project: to increase the capacity of at least 20 CSOs in Dnipropetrovsk region to anticipate the risks associated with human rights activities, and to find the right solutions and actions to overcome crises by training their representatives in the “School of Public Activist Security”.
The project involved public activists working in various fields: fighting corruption, monitoring and control of government, environmental protection, protection of the rights of families of missing persons, internally displaced persons, veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war and other vulnerable groups.
The School program included the following blocks:
- Legal protection
- Cybersecurity
- Interaction with the authorities
- Security in crisis situations
- Secure communications.
Trainings, workshops, consultations were conducted by experienced experts and trainers of the Tamarisk Center, the Educational House of Rights in Chernihiv, the MART NGO, the Institute of Public Expertise, and a consultant on international advocacy at the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union.
The events were held in a combined format: online + offline. Participants of the School and members of their organizations received 50 consultations on human rights, cybersecurity, physical security in crisis situations, secure communications with law enforcement agencies and authorities, etc.
