A press conference “Dnipro City has Joined the Coalition for Protection of Voting Rights of Internally Displaced Persons” was held. The Director of the Center “Tamarisk” participated in two live broadcasts “Living in a State of War. Political Rights of Internally Displaced Persons” and “Problems of Internally Displaced Persons” (DTRK channel).
The public attention was attracted by a street action and a flash mob “Everyone Has the Right to Vote”, which was attended by representatives of non-governmental organizations, volunteers, students, and ordinary citizens. The main action was rap: the characters (internally displaced man, internally displaced woman, student, entrepreneur, public figure, anti-terrorist operation soldier, teacher and mother of many children) were raping about situations in their lives.
A meeting of the Positive Change Club “Are the Rights of Internally Displaced Persons Protected?” was held with participation of CSOs, displaced persons, volunteers, civil society activists.
The round table “Are the Rights of Internally Displaced Persons Protected?” was an important event. It was attended by representatives of 33 CSOs, the Main Territorial Department of Justice in Dnipropetrovsk oblast, deputies of local councils and local government authorities, IDPs (41 participants). Tetiana Durnieva, Executive Director of the Civil Society Holding “GROUP OF INFLUENCE”, co-author of the draft law No. 6240 “On Ensuring Access to Voting Rights of Internally Displaced Persons and other Citizens Displaced within the Country” was on Skype and answered numerous questions of the participants.
