The main goal of the project was to strengthen the capacity of local communities, district and city authorities, internally displaced persons in establishing constructive relations to promote citizens’ cohesion and reduce tensions by supporting the integration of IDPs in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.
There were 6 trainings on organizational development for CSOs and initiative groups working with IDPs: “Effective Social Project: Organizing a Project Development Process in a Team”, “CSOs Organizational Development”, “Effective Communication in a Community”, “Management of Social Projects”, “Strategic Planning”,”Fundamentals of Facilitation” (90 participants from 41 organizations).
Additionally, two 4-day training events “Mediation as a Tool for Overcoming Conflicts” and “Dialogue Facilitation” were conducted in order to train psychologists for working in crisis situations. Also, 2 seminars “Creating Bodies of Self-Organization of Population” (47 participants) and 3 seminars “Voluntary Association of Communities” (70 participants) were held in local communities.
An important parts of the project were 6 dialogues (each dialogue consisting of three meetings) “Partnership as a Guarantee of Community Development” to establish understanding and partnership between IDPs, government and community in Novomoskovsk, Pereshchepyne, Pavlohrad, Pidhorodne, Zelenodolsk and Novooleksandrivka.
Two round tables were held: “Interaction between Local Authorities, CSOs and Internally Displaced Persons” in partnership with Dnipropetrovsk District Council and “Development of Partnership to Reduce Tensions in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast” in partnership with Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration (50 participants in total). Also, 4 street actions, 2 press conferences were held and 9 articles were published.
