The project was aimed at adapting the Polish experience of public animation to Ukrainian conditions, training public animators and developing a network of Centers for Local Activity in cities and districts of the oblast, as well as strengthening information exchange between CSOs, and raising public awareness of civil society organizations activities.


During the seminar 2 Polish experts-trainers and 10 Ukrainian experts participated in development and discussion of the program. Training programs for preparation of community animators were developed, a new name of the future network, “Network of Centers of Positive Changes”, was determined. The First First School of Positive Changes was organized.
A number of events were conducted, including 3 training events, such as “Modern Approaches to Local Community Development”, “Development of Social Projects”, “Communication within a Local Community” (42 representatives from 36 CSOs), more than 500 consultations, 5 press conferences dedicated to the work of civil society organizations in the region.
Mini-grants competition was held and 7 projects aimed at the development of local communities were supported. The projects helped to increase the social activity of citizens and to create positive examples of solving local problems. 23 organizations from 15 localities of Dnipropetrovsk oblast became members of the Network of Centers of Positive Change, 4 CSOs received grants from international donor organizations, 5 CSOs attracted resources locally.
